I am very grateful to God for all the ways He has directed us and helped us in combining two Christian high schools into one. We are enjoying the blessings and challenges of a great new high school with a combined student body, faculty, leadership team, and physical resources.
Our Back to School Night packed out the gymnasium, and our first chapels have filled Stetson Hall to capacity. Students from Highlands and Alma Heights and a number of other schools are becoming friends.
I have especially enjoyed seeing the energy and excellent participation in Fall sports. Our volleyball, soccer, and cross country programs are looking great! Both the varsity and junior varsity volleyball teams played inspired and exciting matches on Friday night, with our varsity girls pulling out a tremendous victory in the 5th game of their match. Be sure to come out and watch our teams whenever you get a chance!
Our total high school enrollment is 154 as of today, with 135 full time students on campus and 19 students in the PSP program. It is especially exciting to have a very large 9th grade class with a total of 48 students. A high school of 200 students seems possible within the next several years.
It has been challenging for students, parents, teachers, and school leaders to deal with all of the growth and change. We have had a few rough spots, and I may have several more gray hairs than I did a few weeks ago. But God is good!
It has been amazing to watch as He helped us through all the major challenges. I want to especially thank all of you who have been keeping the school in your prayers over the past months. Please continue to pray. Without God, we can do nothing. With His leadership, great things can happen above and beyond all that we can ask or think!
