  • What do you love about teaching?

I love seeing the growth in the student's life, academically and spiritually. I just love being where God wants me to be and using the gifts and talents that was given me to do the things that He wants me to do.

How did you end up becoming a teacher?

I never imagined myself teaching anything growing up. I have always had a fascination with computers so I wanted to be a computer engineer but God had a different plan for me. God allowed me to meet great and awesome teachers that changed my perspective on a lot of things. Recognizing the great difference that they make in students lives awakened the passion for change in me. Ever since then I have been following God's calling and direction in my life, which is in the education field.

How do you invest in the lives of young people outside of class?

I am highly involved in my Church's youth ministry. I have been involved in our Church's annual Youth Summer Camp for almost 10 years being a game leader, a cabin leader, a worship leader, counselor, staff and ultimately being the camp director. I have also been teaching in our Sunday School and Bible Studies for High School students. I try to set a good example by the way I live my life.
