  • What do you love about teaching?

I love spending time with God's children, educating, and loving them. Teaching at a Christian school like Alma Heights offers a wonderful opportunity to provide God's love to children on a daily basis through instruction and guidance in a classroom setting.

How did you end up becoming a teacher?

I was a day camp counselor during the summer while I was an undergraduate student at UCLA. It was such an amazing time in which I heard God speak to me about a career in teaching. God's calling to work with youth was confirmed in Ephesians 4:11 "it was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers." After I graduated from UCLA, I completed a two-year program and simultaneously obtained a Master of Arts in Education, a California Multiple Subject Credential and two years of full-time classroom experience. As the Lord has continued to guide my life, He has brought me to continue spreading His love at Alma Heights.

How do you invest in the lives of young people outside of class?

Outside of class, I offer tutoring for students who are struggling or having difficulty understanding new concepts. I also make every effort to attend outside extra-curricular activities in which my students are involved like sporting events, birthday parties and the like. It is so important for my students to feel and know that they are loved inside and outside the classroom.
