Make a Donation
For many people, talking about money (whether it be giving or asking) is uncomfortable. After all, money is a very private affair. Truth be known, fundraising is all about relationships. There are three basic components to understand when talking about money:
- Philanthropy - something based on values; people do something voluntary for the public good (like supporting an arts, human service or educational program)
- Development - uncovers shared values (activities to get to know people in order to get them engaged in a specific project)
- Fundraising - enables people to act on their values (asking people to give money to what they deem is important and of value to them).
Here at AHCA, we ask people to give donations because the school meets their needs, as an educational institution, as a community, as a source of spiritual nourishment, as a family. Everyone's contributions help to strengthen the institution and our hope is that each gift is meaningful. We know that "meaningful" is a personal kind of decision, and we have been inspired by all of our donors' thoughtfulness and generosity.
Helping to bridge the difference between the cost of tuition and the cost of educating our students is critical. Our annual fund allows us to recruit and retain the very best faculty and provide excellent programs for our students. It enriches all aspects of the school's program: from academics to sports from Bible learning to dramatic presentations and from music and art to meaningful Christian projects.
Thank you one and all for your continued support of all the development activities that we have at AHCA. Every gift really does make a difference.

United Way Donor Option: You can specify AHCA as a recipient of your employee contribution through United Way.
Gifts of Appreciated Securities: Gifts of appreciated securities, such as stocks and bonds, allow you the donor to avoid capital gain taxes and provide a charitable deduction based upon the stock's full market value.
Gifts of Real Estate: You may give a vacation home, acreage, a lot, a house, a commercial building or other types of real estate held longer than six months and receive a charitable deduction for the full market value.
Gifts of Tangible Property / Prize Donations: Personal property gifts of saleable tangible personal property such as art, antiques, or jewelry can offer an immediate tax deduction and estate tax benefits. Gifts of property that can be used at fundraising events — such as use of vacation condo, gift certificates, frequent flyer miles and hotel accommodations — are also welcome.
Trusts and Bequests: In your will, consider designating AHCA as a beneficiary of all or a portion of your estate. A bequest may be made for a specific dollar amount, for a percentage of the value of the estate, or for the remainder of an estate after distribution to heirs.
Fundraising Events: Are you planning a birthday party, holiday party, anniversary? Why not make AHCA the beneficiary of your next celebration? In lieu of gifts, ask your guests to make a charitable contribution to AHCA. Donations are tax deductible, and all donors will receive an acknowledgment letter for tax purposes.
Please call Alma Heights Christian Academy at 650-359-0555 for more information regarding any of these opportunities. In addition, your own financial advisors will be able to help you determine the giving method most advantageous for you to support AHCA.
